Agitator Guide

Agitators consist of a propeller, a submersible motor and a system for the installation of the device. These devices can be used in a variety of applications, but primarily in craft applications, for multiple uses. Basically, liquids, solids or gases are mixed with each other. Various standard agitators and custom-made products are available, which make it possible to achieve an optimum result for specific materials. Furthermore, the stirrers can be dismantled and mounted on flexible models, because the stirrer shape also determines the quality of the result.

Where are agitators used?

Agitators are used wherever different materials need to be mixed together. This is of course primarily the case in the trades – painters, for example, use these devices to process their plaster. In this occupational field, it is already clear how important the correct application of these devices is: A very good example here is colored stone plaster, which requires particularly careful processing. The agitator must work slowly here so as not to damage natural stone granules.

Even on construction sites agitators belong to the common repertoire and must not be missed: Here, mortar, plaster or concrete are mixed. Here, too, there are special requirements for the devices – in particular the mixing of concrete causes problems for many models, which is why special concrete agitators are generally used here. These are significantly more massive and heavier, but are also characterized by their powerful and efficient engine.

Furthermore, agitators in the cosmetics industry, in the beverage industry, in disposal technology and in pharmacy and other areas such as wastewater and plastics industry regularly used. In these industries, agitators are essential devices that are part of everyday use and must therefore be of high quality.

Models and tasks for different agitators

The numerous fields of application make special designs necessary in order to perfectly match the agitators to the material used. Above all, the shape of the stirrer makes a big difference between the individual products: Propeller stirrers are, as the name suggests, shaped like a propeller. They are mainly used for homogenization and suspension.
Anchor stirrers are also used very frequently. They serve to heat exchange and are guided close to the walls of the container.
In addition, there are disc stirrers, blade stirrers, lattice stirrers and a few other models that are tailored to the specific requirements of individual materials. Often there is one agitator from several stirrers, which are vertically aligned. So even larger quantities of the material can be processed.

The task of the agitator decisively determines the choice of the model. Basically, these devices are used for homogenization, suspension, emulsification, dispersing and heat transfer between materials. Basically, the central task of the agitator is therefore to mix and agitate the material.

Who is one agitator should pay particular attention to the quality of the stirrer. Only high-quality models can optimally process difficult material such as concrete without overheating or impairing their functionality.
